National network acquires pioneering eye care practice

St. Petersburg-based Updegraff Laser Vision will be part of Eye Health America.

ST. PETERSBURG — With its sixth acquisition of the year, Eye Care America has expanded its presence in the southeast by adding to its roster Updegraff Laser Vision, a St. Petersburg practice founded by Stephen Updegraff — one of the first eye doctors to perform LASIK vision correction surgery in the United States.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
