Venice-based drinkware manufacturer Tervis celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Osprey store May 18.
Tervis President Rogan Donelly received a proclamation from Venice Mayor John Holic declaring that May 19 is Tervis Day.
Tervis also announced new products, including a bowl, the company's first foray outside its drinkware staples. The bowls are on the company's website and can be purchased at the Osprey store.
Donelly says the bowls are the result of customers asking Tervis to make other products. "We're going to lean into our strengths and continue to listen to the customer and adapt," he says.
In June, Tervis will add 150 new designs — plus additional sports designs — to its line of drinkware products.
As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations for the store, Tervis hid 50 golden cups around Sarasota. So far, people have found 25 cups and turned them in to receive their prize — a cup and a tour of the Tervis factory.
