Food distributor boosts sales

BONITA SPRINGS — Specialty foods distributor Innovative Food Holdings says sales grew 18% to $30.6 million last year compared with 2014.

In the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31, Innovative Food's sales rose 22% to $8.4 million. Net income excluding amortization and stock-related expenses rose 230% to $803,000, the Bonita Springs-based company reported.

Innovative Food distributes more than 7,000 specialty items daily to thousands of chefs at upscale restaurants in the U.S. “Our nationwide specialty food platform continues to be a leading solution for both broadline foodservice providers seeking to offer specialty food products to the their customers and to small specialty food companies seeking access to local and national sales channels which, without our platform, would typically be unavailable to them,” says Justin Wiernasz, president of Innovative Food, in a statement.
