Realtor associations propose a marriage

CAPE CORAL — The Realtor associations of Cape Coral and Fort Myers will unite if their members agree.

The boards of the Cape Coral Association of Realtors and the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach agreed to unite into a single association linking the two areas of Lee County. The 6,000 members of the two organizations can vote on the proposal over a 10-day period that ends Oct. 26.

“A joint task force of leadership from both associations has worked behind the scenes for many months on this project because there are great benefits in strength in numbers, collaboration, influence and tools,” says Paula Hellenbrand, broker and owner of Encore Realty Services and president of the Cape Coral Association of Realtors, in a statement. “For years we have worked side by side serving our community while in the eyes of the public they have always viewed us as one organization.”
