PDQ buys vacant lot for Gulf Coast Town Center restaurant

PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
Tampa-based MVP Holdings purchased a 1.14-acre vacant commercial lot across Gulf Center Drive from Gulf Coast Town Center for $987,845.

The price equated to $866,531 per acre.

Tampa general contractor iConstructors has already started building a PDQ Restaurant on the site. The building will have roughly 4,000 square feet and employ 60 to 70 people. It is currently scheduled to open in December.

If the restaurant meets that construction schedule, it will be the first of two planned PDQs in Fort Myers. The chain previously purchased the 5,244-square-foot former Steak and Ale restaurant on Cleveland
Avenue for $1.33 million to be the second location. That restaurant is scheduled to open in January.

As of Sept. 12, PDQ had 29 open restaurants and another five to six restaurants scheduled to open this year.
