TAMPA — The University of Tampa has started demolishing a wing of a nearly 30-year-old residence hall to build a new residence hall in its place.

The southern section of ResCom, which faces North A Street on campus, will be torn down to make way for a new residential building, which is scheduled for completion in January.
ResCom was built in 1986. It consists of three, three-story apartment wings and houses a total of 235 students.

Crossroads Construction has been hired for the demolition and to build the new residence hall.
