O'Brien Automotive of Florida buys Galloway Mazda, real estate

PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
O'Brien Automotive of Florida purchased the business and real estate of the Galloway Mazda dealership from Galloway Auto. The real estate, which includes buildings for sales, services and detailing, on 4.57 acres on Colonial Boulevard that was sold for $1.4 million. An additional portion of the property was transferred in a quitclaim deed for $1.15 million.

The new owner declined to comment on the purchase price for the business.

O'Brien Automotive of Florida plans to relocate the Mazda dealership to its existing 20-acre dealership campus, which already includes Subaru and Hyundai franchises, at 2850 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers.

“We're looking at the possibility of selling, leasing or doing something else with that real estate,” says Gary Matern, president and general manager for O'Brien Auto Park. “This was more of a business purchase than a real estate purchase. This gives us an immediate owner base of over 9,000 Mazda owners, and we will be doing our best to reach out to them as we speak to let them know that O'Brien is going to be there to take care of them.”
