Brandon Mayer of Punta Gorda purchased the Sweetwater Landing marina for $1.5 million.
The price equated to $10,714 per dry and wet slip.
The marina features 70 wet slips and an equal number of dry slips. The 11.5-acre site contains a main building that houses a retail ship store and seven service bays, a boat barn for the dry slip storage and two vacant parcels.
“I've always enjoyed the marina atmosphere,” Mayer says. “I've been boating my whole life. So it was really the opportunity [to buy it] and the possibility for future expansion that attracted me to it. We have the possibility of putting up a restaurant there. On one of the separate three-acre parcels we could put up storage, some stores, condos or something else like that. “
