Lennar Homes pays $16M for additional Belmont home lots

PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
Miami-based homebuilder Lennar Homes purchased 291 home sites in the Belmont community for $16.18 million.

The price equated to $55,605 per lot.

According to Mark Metheny, division president for Lennar-Central Florida, Lennar was successful in its previous phase at Belmont and saw an opportunity to increase its presence there.

“The SouthShore area is a great market right now,” Metheny wrote in an email to the Business Observer. “There's a lot of activity, and Belmont is a great community centrally located in that area.”

The homebuilder plans to offer 40-, 50- and 60-foot home lots and new homes priced from $229,000 to $300,000. Lennar also plans to develop a community swimming pool and clubhouse.

Site development is nearing completion and additional home construction should start in February.
