FORT MYERS — Scanlon Auto Group opened a new Lexus auto dealership on U.S. 41 and is renovating the former Lexus location next door to sell Acuras. The total project will cost $25 million, the company says.

Scanlon recently opened the two-story, 77,800-square-foot Lexus dealership at 14200 S. Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers. The new facility includes a customer lounge, business offices and employee training rooms. It also includes indoor drive-thru area for vehicle drop offs with eight service stations, a 43-vehicle climate-controlled service area and a two-bay car wash.

Meanwhile, Scanlon is remodeling the former Lexus location next door into a new Acura dealership. The 11,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to be completed by late spring.

“When the Acura dealership is completed, we will have invested more than $25 million into Lee County with these two construction projects located on 11.79 acres and created over 40 new jobs,” says Jay Scanlon, vice president of Scanlon Auto Group, in a statement.

Owen-Ames-Kimball Company is the contractor for both projects and Schenkel Schultz is architect for the Scanlon dealership. GMA Architects is the architect for the Acura dealership.
