TAMPA — Hillsborough County officials plan to invest $2 million in infrastructure designed to drive the growth of technology and innovation startups and small businesses.
County and business leaders will announce the Economic Development Innovation Initiative, called ED12, at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The program, intended to support the growing entrepreneurship ecosystem, will address the need for financial, technical and infrastructure support, says a press release.
ED12 will support events that increase awareness, attract new talent and create networking activities that promote the industry.
It will align county resources to advocate for the startup community and support research efforts to ensure successful implementation of the program.
Plus, it will help nonprofits engaged in incubation, acceleration, mentoring and networking.
Officials will answer questions about the program at the Tuesday afternoon event at Middleton High School, Room 402, 4801 N. 22nd St., Tampa.
