Pemco names Meehan new CEO

TAMPA — Pemco World Air Services, a Tampa-based company that provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for jet planes, will have a new CEO June 1.

Bill Meehan, a former executive with Continental Airlines, will succeed current CEO Wake Smith, according to a release. Meehan spent 27 years with Continental, at one point serving as president and COO of the airline's Micronesia operations.

“With the addition of our second hangar in Tampa and our regional aircraft MRO base in Cincinnati to our pre-existing maintenance and cargo conversion operations in Alabama and China, we need to bolster our senior team,” explains Smith in a release. Going forward, Meehan will work closely with Kevin Casey, current Pemco president, to grow the company.
