An overwhelming start to online business for Suwanee, Ga.-based Vision Airlines drew the attention of Florida Gov. Rick Scott this past week.

Vision, which is marketing itself as a discount regional airline, sold 12,000 tickets through the first 120 hours of operating its online store, the company said in a release.

Customers quickly bought up its $49 dollar fare offering; the company says those seats sold out in 48 hours. Vision will respond by offering additional seats at that price, officials said.

Upon reviewing the airline's sales activity, Gov. Rick Scott told multiple media outlets that he expects Vision to add 4,000 jobs to the state's panhandle region.

Vision Airlines has been in operation since 1994. The company just announced that it would expand its service to Florida last week.
