Best-of contest underway

Nominations for the 2011 Addy Awards, the American Advertising Federation's annual best-of contest, are being accepted through Jan. 15 for the organization's Suncoast chapter.

Entries with payment will be accepted at two locations: Coastal Printing, 1730 Independence Blvd., Sarasota, or MadeBy Gallery, 734 Central Ave., Sarasota.

The chapter will also celebrate tardiness this year with a last-minute networking and nomination assistance session. The event is planned for Jan. 14 at Sign Zoo, 4139 N. Washington Blvd., Sarasota. It includes a free beer or glass of wine, in addition to materials to help procrastinators.

Nomination fees vary, depending on membership status. The chapter has a $15 per entry late fee for any nomination entered after Jan. 15 through Jan. 18.

Addy award winners will be recognized Feb. 21 at a gala at the Asolo Rep Theatre in Sarasota. Tickets are $50.
