Turn on the light and cheers

Fort Myers was the winter home of Thomas Edison, so it's fitting to raise a toast to the inventor with a brew bearing his name.

New Century Brewing Co. in Boston is selling a new brewski appropriately called Edison Light.

Publix and other retailers and restaurants started shelving Edison Light in Fort Myers on Feb. 9 and New Century CEO Rhonda Kallman was in town to serve up some samples.

Kallman is a 25-year veteran of the craft-beer industry who in 1984 co-founded Boston Beer Co., maker of Samuel Adams beers.
