Robb & Stucky goes bankrupt

FORT MYERS — Robb & Stucky Limited LLP, a Fort Myers-based furniture retailer, filed for bankruptcy reorganization under Chapter 11 last week. The company said its business was dragged down by the collapse of the state's real estate market.

Regular day-to-day business procedures, including showroom operations, will continue. In addition to its Florida facilities, Robb & Stucky has showroom locations in Texas, Arizona, and Nevada.

While the bankruptcy process requires the company to consider liquidation bids, divisional President Dan Lubner said the firm is hoping to be bought instead.
