Tech Data opens two new groups

CLEARWATER — Tech Data Corp. (symbol: TECD) created two new business divisions to spur growth. The HP Solutions Division and the Networking Solutions Group were operating this morning.

Creating a new division for HP products will help streamline operations with Tech Data's largest vendor partner, HP products make up 28% of Tech Data's net global sales. John O'Shea, an employee with Tech Data since 1996, will lead the division as vice president.

The Networking Solutions Group looks to combine a variety of network-related technologies into one business unit. "The creation of the Networking Solutions Group will make it easier for networking vendors and VARs to leverage Tech Data's high-value, solutions-oriented sales, marketing and technical support methodology," said Joe Quaglia, a senior vice president with Tech Data.
