BankUnited adds eight branches

NAPLES — BankUnited will soon add eight branches across the Florida market, expanding its total network of offices to include 90 locations within the state.

Three of the eight new branches will open in Southwest Florida. They are:

• 6201 Central Ave., St. Petersburg;
• 4015 Tampa Rd., Oldsmar; and
• 8877 Tamiami Trail N., Naples.

BankUnited earned $44 million in net income in the second quarter of this year. The Miami Lakes-based institution manages $10.8 billion in assets. John Kanas is the bank's chairman, president and chief executive officer.
