Homes in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area lost 13.61% of their value between February 2011 and the same month a year ago, according to the latest research at Corelogic.
Over the same time frame, home prices fell 9.63% in North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota. In Cape Coral-Fort Myers, prices are down 3.54%, Corelogic said.
As a state, Florida saw the third largest over-the-year drop in values, with home prices falling 11.2% statewide. Only Idaho (-14.6%) and Arizona (-12%) saw steeper declines.
Across the U.S., Corelogic's national home price index showed a 6.7% over-the-year decline in prices, marking the seventh consecutive month of price declines.
