Dais Analytic Corp. entered into an agreement with the University of Florida to develop part of its energy technology portfolio, although financial terms were not disclosed.

The agreement centers around a device called the NanoCap. The NanoCap acts as a capacitor, meaning it is able to store electricity, and Dais says early tests have shown NanoCap may be used to dramatically improve the delivery of electrical power.

Dais' relationship with UF will move the NanoCap from materials tests into a prototype phase, a release said.

Based in Odessa, Dais Analytic received a $680,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy earlier this month.
