Listening to employers, not tenured professors

If the recent Manpower survey is any indication, it'll pay off to listen to employers who plan to add staff in the fourth quarter.


Fort Myers-based Southwest Florida College is taking the message to heart. It redesigned its logo and has a new tagline: “A college listening to employers.”


Universities and colleges ought to know that the success of their graduates doesn't just depend on the education they receive but whether there are jobs in their chosen fields.


Sadly, it seems, the tagline at some universities is, “A college listening to tenured professors.”
