Alico hires new CFO

Alico Inc., a land management company based in LaBelle, named Scott Whitney its newest chief financial officer, effective Sept. 27. Whitney replaces Patrick Murphy, who announced his retirement late last month.

Whitney comes to Alico from the Bonita Bay Group, where he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He has also held similar roles with several other companies, including Damon Custom Structures Inc. and WCI Communities LP.

“Scott's 34 year background in finance and real estate will add significant value to our efforts,” Alico CEO JD Alexander says.

Alico Inc. owns approximately 135,500 acres of land throughout Florida.
