WCI Communities sold eight golf courses in Sun City Center, about 30 miles south of Tampa, for $8.7 million. Steven Ekovich, a vice president with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, facilitated the deal.

ClubLink Enterprises Limited, the largest owner and operator of golf courses in Canada, bought the courses from WCI, giving the company a starting point for investing in Florida's golf market.

“This acquisition establishes a firm foothold in Florida for us, and we are actively pursuing other opportunities on both sides of the border,” said ClubLink CEO Rai Sahi.
ClubLink now owns more than 50 18-hole golf courses at 39 locations in Ontario, Quebec, and Florida.

WCI Communities, a Bonita Springs-based homebuilding company, recently emerged from bankruptcy reorganization. The Business Review featured the company in July.
