Hometown Democracy sugar daddy revealed

A wealthy new financial supporter for Amendment 4, the “vote on everything” proposition, has emerged.

And for supporters of the anti-growth measure, the capital infusion couldn't have come at a better time. In fact, Florida Hometown Democracy, the political committee that got the amendment on the Nov. 2 ballot, was nearly out of money heading into the final weeks of the seven-year campaign.

But as of Oct. 15, the committee now has about $500,000 in the bank — roughly matching that of the opposing political committee, Citizens for Lower Taxes and a Stronger Economy. Plus, it appears more than three times that much may be en route to Florida Hometown Democracy.
