HealthPlan Holdings fills chair

Executives at HealthPlan Holdings Inc. appointed John S. Watts, Jr. as the company's new chairman. Based in Tampa, HealthPlan provides outsourcing services to insurance companies.

Watts has 30 years of leadership experience in the health care industry. He has spent time previously as president of the commercial and consumer segment at WellPoint Inc., and as CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield Georgia.

HealthPlan was acquired by Water Street, a private equity firm, in 2008.
