The next two months might be a busy time for hiring if the 2010 Chubb Private Company Risk Survey is to be believed. Just less than half of survey respondents (44%) said they planned to hire additional employees before the end of this year.

The survey investigated several other key business topics, including employee benefits. One in four respondents said they would be changing benefits packages over the next 12 months.

Additionally, 12% of those surveyed said they expected to complete a major acquisition within the next two months.

Decision makers at 451 for-profit firms across the nation were interviewed for the survey, which was conducted independently by Pollara. More than 90% of firms represented in the survey had annual revenues less than $25 million.

Chubb is a specialty insurance company based in Warren, N.J.
