Gov. Charlie Crist approved the state's proposed $70 billion budget on Friday, but did apply line-item vetoes to a handful of projects as well. Crist's vetoes cut a total of $371 million in spending from the final budget.

Most notably, Crist blocked the reallocation of $160 million from the state's transportation trust fund to education spending.

Crist also eliminated several projects that he argued did not receive “adequate open and transparent review,” including a $5 million allocation for the construction of an innovation hub at Florida Gulf Coast University.
