Maddux Business Report closes

The Maddux Business Report will end a 26-year run of covering business news along Florida's Gulf Coast next month.

“We're very proud of what we've accomplished in our 26 years,” said Carlen Maddux, the magazine's founder, editor and president, in a release. “Now it's time to redirect our efforts into venues other than a printed magazine.”

Nancy Howe, the magazine's publisher, will continue to develop the publication's online product, called NewsWire, the release said. Howe will also continue working with Maddux on a potential internet marketing business venture.

“We've really enjoyed the friendships and working relationships with these economic development organizations and others throughout the region,” said Maddux. “And we anticipate those relationships will continue.”
