On Oct. 21, 2009, Foster City, Calif.-based Equinix Inc. (NASDAQ: EQIX) announced its intent to acquire Tampa's Switch & Data Facilities Company Inc. (NASDAQ: SDXC).
Today, the deal is done.
The transaction will allow Equinix, a data center services company, to expand into the 22 markets across the U.S. and Canada occupied by Switch & Data facilities, including Atlanta, Miami, and Toronto.
