Sykes expands to Romania

Sykes Enterprises Inc. opened a new facility in the Romanian city of Cluj, part of its ongoing effort to expand its international presence.

Chuck Sykes, president and CEO of Sykes Enterprises, says Cluj will offer the company's European clients a low-cost option for business services outsourcing.

"Given the long-term growth opportunity in the customer contact management industry, the expansion into Cluj, Romania, builds on our initial beachhead in eastern Europe going back more than a decade,” Sykes said in a release.

Sykes also spoke highly of the regions' demographics from a business perspective. He cited “a deep and highly educated pool of labor, a competitive wage structure, a robust commercial infrastructure and an accommodative investment climate.”

One of the largest companies in Tampa, Sykes Enterprises (symbol: SYKE) allows its clients to outsource customer contact operations. The company has $918.02 million in revenue over the past 12 months.
