Effective July 31, 2010, the current president of Walter Energy will step down.
George Richmond, the company's president and chief operating officer, said his decision to resign was not the result of any disagreement with the company.
Walter Energy is currently based in Tampa, but will soon re-locate its headquarters to Alabama, as the business increases its focus on coal production.
