Having your company's stock compared favorably to that of Apple (symbol: AAPL) and Google (symbol: GOOG) is always a good thing. With a massive hoard of cash against zero debt, Largo-based WellCare Health Plans has put itself into that conversation.

This morning, TheStreet.com published a list of “10 Cash-Rich Companies With No Debt,” and WellCare (symbol: WCG) was acknowledged for its strong cash position, with $1.1 billion available.

The report noted that WellCare's stock value has increased 45% over the past 12 months. The stock passed $28 in trading on Friday morning.

Of course the comparison to Apple and Google can only go so far: those two have $23 billion and $27 billion of their own in cash, respectively.
