Florida received additional funding to help deal with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill this morning, as BP committed a $25 million block grant to pay for the disaster's impact, a release said.

“This additional funding will continue Florida's efforts to respond in a timely manner,” said Gov. Charlie Crist, who signed a memorandum of understanding with BP as part of the transfer.

BP committed $50 million to Florida's recovery efforts in May.
