HomeBanc finalizes Encore buy

HomeBanc N.A. has finalized its agreement to acquire deposits worth approximately $50.4 million from Encore Bank N.A., according to a release from the bank.

A subsidiary of Houston-based Encore Bancshares Inc., Encore Bank is selling the deposits from its Clearwater and Belleair Bluffs offices to HomeBanc. News of a pending deal was first reported in March, when Encore announced that it would be leaving Florida.

HomeBanc is a subsidiary of Tampa-based Homebancorp Inc., led by CEO Jerry Campbell.
