The latest poll data from Quinnipiac University suggests Republican gubernatorial hopeful Rick Scott holds an 11-point lead over his closest competition, current Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum.

According to the poll, 43% of likely voters in the upcoming Republican primary will support Scott, compared to 32% for McCollum. That leaves 23% of voters undecided. For those voters who expressed an opinion in the recent poll, Quinnipiac said the results mirror a general preference for a government outsider in November's election.

Additionally, 43% of those respondents who did name a candidate said they might yet change their mind, the survey suggested.

Rick Scott was profiled in an April edition of the Business Review.
