Startup companies looking for funding on the Gulf Coast may not have to travel as far to find angel investors.
A group of investors is raising money for the Tamiami Angel Fund I, a $3 million fund that is the first of its kind in the region, according to recent filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. So far, the fund has raised $1.2 million.
Timothy Cartright, the Naples-based fund's manager, declined to comment on the formation of the fund, but it's good news for Florida companies starved for scarce venture capital.
