Aerosonic Corp. completed $7.05 million in sales in the three months ended Oct. 29, resulting in a net income of $93,000. Those numbers declined 6% and 87% respectively over the year.

This year's third quarter performance delivered $0.02 in earnings

Specifically, sales of transmitters, sensors and spare parts fell by $1.2 million, a release explained. An $800,000 increase in mechanical instrument sales offset that decline somewhat.

President and CEO Doug Hillman claims his company's latest earnings are the result of a shift in strategy that should pay off for the Clearwater-based firm down the road.

“Our focus on building the business has required that we eschew stronger short term earnings to position ourselves for healthy growth when our markets begin to improve,” Hillman said in a release.

Aerosonic Corp. manufactures aviation products from two U.S. locations: its headquarters in Clearwater, and a facility in Charlottesville, Va.
