A federal judge in Virginia declared the health care reform law recently signed by President Obama to be unconstitutional.

U.S. District Court Judge Henry Hudson took issue with the fact that the new law requires every American citizen to buy health insurance, arguing that such a mandate violates the Constitution of the United States.

“An individual's personal decision to purchase — or decline purchase — (of) health insurance from a private provider is beyond the historical reach of the U.S. Constitution,” Hudson wrote in his decision.

Following the decision, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli acknowledged that any argument over the health care reform law's constitutionality would eventually be settled by the U.S. Supreme Court.
