Former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives Larry Cretul took on a leadership role with the Florida Chamber of Commerce earlier this week. He is now the staff director of the chamber's Board of Governors program.

In his new role, Cretul will serve as a liaison between the chamber's councils and committees and its board of directors, providing the board with pro-business recommendations based on committee findings.

“I look forward to taking the Florida Chamber's plan for a stronger economy and high-wage jobs, putting them to work with Governor-elect Rick Scott's job creation plan, and making Florida the number one job creator,” Cretul said in a release.

Cretul was first elected to the Florida House in 2002. His service as Florida House Speaker began in March 2009. He also served previously as a Marion County Commissioner, having been elected in both 1994 and 1998.
