Parrish loses jobs

Keepsake Plants will shut down its plant production operations in Parrish before the end of the year, leaving 66 employees without jobs.

Gary Knipe, managing director at Keepsake, notified the Agency for Workforce Innovation of the closure last week, saying the workforce reduction would take effect on Oct. 22.

Keepsake Plants is a subsidiary of Aris Horticultural Inc., which is based in Barberton, Ohio. The company operates a similar plant production facility in Fort Myers.
