Florida schools ranked

U.S. News & World Report recognized eight Florida colleges and universities in its latest national rankings — one measure of the quality of the available workforce.

Ranking among the nation's best universities were University of Miami (ranked 47th in the U.S.), University of Florida (53), Florida State University (104), Florida Institute of Technology (159), University of Central Florida (179), and University of South Florida (183).

New College and Eckerd College were listed 99th and 137th in the national liberal arts college rankings.
