Tech Data buys Triade

Tech Data Corp. agreed to acquire the stock of Triade Holding, a portfolio of electronics distribution companies based in Europe. Triade companies generated approximately $1.2 billion in sales in 2009, a release said.

Including assumed debt, the acquired companies' total enterprise value is estimated at approximately $189 million.

"This major transaction validates our diversification strategy, moving Tech Data into high growth, specialty product categories, and will contribute to achieving our stated financial goals," said Tech Data CEO Robert M. Dutkowsky.

Tech Data Corp. (symbol: TECD) is one of the world's largest technology product distributors. It is the largest company headquartered on Florida's Gulf Coast based on 2009 revenues.
