Med-tech exec arranges homecoming with new HQ

The chief executive officer of Pico-Tesla Magnetic Therapies LLC, a Colorado-based emerging medical technology company, is returning to the Gulf Coast and bringing part of his company with him.

Allen Braswell Jr., a native of Clearwater, plans to relocate from Littleton, Co., to open what Pico-Tesla calls as its East Coast headquarters in a 4,000-square-foot space at Airport Business Center. The Clearwater office, which is being leased from Hallmark Development of Florida Inc., will be used to conduct clinical trials using electromagnetic treatment regimens for Parkinson's disease and Type 2 diabetes.

“It's nice to get back home and pursue this exciting business opportunity in a place where I have so many friends and family,” Braswell said in a press release.
Pico-Tesla will be in good company: Florida ranks second in the nation in the number of medical device companies registered with the Food and Drug Administration, and Pinellas County has more medical technology employees than any other in the Sunshine State, according to Mike Meidel, the county's economic development director.
