Another day has brought yet another pessimistic survey regarding the beleaguered commercial real estate market.
First there was the quarterly state of the industry survey released late last month by LoopNet, an online commercial real estate listing service and broker network. Among a litany of dismal results, that survey showed that 46% of industry participants think a recovery won't take place until 2011.
Now comes the Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2010 Report, released earlier this month by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Urban Land Institute. The report states that “commercial real estate industry investors and professionals remain decidedly negative, colored by distress over prospects for an extended period of anemic demand and costly de-leveraging.”
