Airport parking gets competition

More than 7 million passengers pass through Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers each year.

So you'd think some savvy entrepreneurs would provide off-airport parking at a discount like many other major airports around the country. But until now, high land costs around the airport have made these deals impossible.

Now that land values are dropping, however, a Connecticut entrepreneur plans to open a parking facility near the Fort Myers airport that will include car detailing and maintenance like oil changes while you travel.
