Duette landfill project moves along

MVP Corvus Development Partners has received approval to build a landfill.


Just a few months after closing on a purchase of 208 acres in rural Manatee County for use in building a landfill, MVP Corvus Development Partners has received an important government approval: The Manatee County Commission has unanimously approved changes to the land code and comprehensive plan supporting the project, to be built on property off of County road 39.

Corvus, a unit of Corvus International, is building the $51 million project in Duette for Waste Management.

“We've hit the high watermark for permitting,” says Tim Vining, a principal with Corvus. “We feel very fortunate we got past that major milestone.”

Up next for the developers: They need site plan approval; building permits; and backing from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Water Management District.
