Accounting

• CPA Associates hired two new associates. Mac Nicoll was hired as an audit manager. He previously worked as a partner-in-charge of KPMG in Burlington, Vt. Sean Gingras was hired as an audit senior. Gingras previously worked as an audit senior with Bobbitt, Pittenger & Co.

Architecture

• Esther Ryskamp has joined The ADP Group, a Sarasota-based architecture, interior design and planning firm as an intern architect. Ryskamp recently graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a bachelor's of science degree in architecture. While completing her degree, Ryskamp worked with Varady Associates Inc. in Bingham Farms, Mich., as an interior designer, draftsman, and administrator.

Financial

• Robert W. Baird & Co., an international wealth management, capital markets, asset management and private equity firm, has recognized Jay Logan, vice president of investments and branch office manager in the firm's Sarasota office, with a G. Frederick Kasten Jr. Private Client Group award. The award is considered the highest honor a financial adviser can receive from the firm for client service.

Health Care

• Robert S. Friedman, M.D., and Allison V. Menezes, M.D., of Kantor Eye Institute and Laser Center in Sarasota have been appointed clinical assistant professors in the Department of Clinical Sciences at The Florida State University College of Medicine.

Law

• Abel Band associate attorney Cindy Fuqua, a member of the firm's business and corporate counseling and personal services and planning practice groups, received her CPA certificate from the Florida Board of Accountancy.

• Abel Band attorney Benjamin R. Hanan, a shareholder and member of the firm's business and corporate counseling practice group, has received The Doris Loevner Memorial Leadership Award, which is given annually to the person who best exemplifies the ideals of love of community, integrity and leadership.

Retail

• The Westfield Group announced two general manager relocations for its Sarasota centers: Laurie Goldman has been named general manager of Westfield Sarasota and Bill Brzycki has been named general manager of Westfield Southgate.

Goldman was previously general manager of Westfield Citrus Park in Tampa for two years. Brzycki joins Westfield Southgate from Westfield Southlake in Indiana where he was an assistant general manager for two years.
