LandMark Bank to open

fifth banking center

LandMark Bank of Florida will open a fifth Sarasota County banking location in this year's fourth quarter. The new center is at 8444 South Tamiami Trail, on the west side of U.S. 41, south of Vamo Road and north of Central Sarasota Parkway. The location is currently a SouthTrust Bank branch. LandMark Bank will take possession of the new location in September, and expects to open in October.

Since opening in 2000, LandMark Bank has expanded from one location to four, including a part-time banking location within the Sunnyside Village Retirement Community. In five years, the bank has built an asset base exceeding $200 million.

Michael Saunders & Co. was among the award recipients in the RELO Marketing and Promotions Contest held in conjunction with the 2005 RELO Conference. The Sarasota-based realty company earned the top awards for both Internet marketing and relocation kit materials and highest honors for Web site and company collateral materials. The award-winning entries were based on creativity, incorporation of RELO material and/or graphics and overall presentation.

Manatee Chamber announces

recruitment campaign results

The Manatee Chamber announced the results of its annual membership recruitment campaign. Board members and volunteers worked to bring in 245 new members this year.

Tom Danahy, vice president of Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, who serves as the chamber's vice chairman of membership development, signed 33 new members. As first-prize winner, Danahy won a 42-inch Plasma TV. Betsy Bray of Advertising Specialties and Promotions won second prize for bringing in 24 new members.

• Wright & Associates Accounting & Business Management Inc. is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

• TRS Technology has been retained by Siesta Plaza Motel to upgrade the motel's Web site.

• Port Manatee has become the nation's first seaport to receive certification from the U.S. Maritime Administration for its seaport security training coursework. Port Manatee submitted a 750-page certification application in April 2005. As a result of the certification, the port has attracted professionals from ports throughout the United States.
