CJT Home Health Inc. acquired Approved Home Health Inc. and Approved Homemakers and Companions Inc. CJT will operate under the business name of Approved Home Health. The Approved home health care companies have served Manatee County since 1989 and employ 86 people locally.

Belinda Holmes, a health care consultant with Kerkering, Barberio & Co. PA, recently spoke to the Florida Chiropractic Association on Senate Bill 32-A, the "Florida Motor Vehicle Insurance Affordability Reform Act." Her presentation focused on the significant changes in the filing of PIP insurance claims by physicians and other health care providers.

Miles Media to produce

Sarasota Convention site

The Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) awarded the Miles Media Group the contract to produce the SCVB's official Web site, www.sarasotafl.org. Miles Media won the contract because of its expertise in consumer tourism and Web product delivery. The site is being updated with a revised calendar of events and grids that allow for easy comparison.

Manatee County funding considers Family Heritage House

A panel comprised of Manatee County residents dedicated to historic preservation and education recommended the Family Heritage House Museum to the clerk's office for funding in 2004-2005. Family Heritage Museum, located at the Sara Harlee Library on the Manatee County College Bradenton campus, is the only Manatee museum dedicated to the preservation and sharing of the history and cultural achievements of African Americans.
