Valpak to hire 100

LARGO — Valpak Direct Marketing Systems Inc., a Largo-headquartered direct marketing firm, plans to hire 100 veterans by the end of 2013, the company says in a news release.

Valpak is recruiting veterans for its sales force based on research showing that veterans possess proficient communication skills and accountability, according to the release. It would also qualify the firm for tax credits outlined in the VOW to Hire Veterans Act of 2011, which includes $5,600 for each veteran hired and $9,600 for disabled veterans.

Valpak is operated by Atlanta-based Cox Media Group Inc. and specializes in direct mail coupon campaigns.
